Global: Building the Political Economy for Reform: The Role of Advisory Groups in Regulatory Governance in OECD Countries

JC&A prepared an analytical paper, which was presented at the OECD Regulatory Policy Committee, on nongovernmental institutional drivers to support regulatory reform. Using examples from a number of OECD countries, the report reviewed key formal and informal institutions that actively advocate regulatory reform or that otherwise have an impact on policy debates. The aim of the report was to help OECD members to discuss and draw conclusions on the frameworks that may best equip countries as they prepare for regulatory management and reform, in terms of maturing the political debate, informing and preparing stakeholders and citizens, and facilitating the implementation.
